The MIETC project was launched in January 2020 and completed in March 2024. Its main objective was to strengthen the academic capacity of higher education institutions in Central Asia in industrial entrepreneurship by developing and implementing interdisciplinary MSc programmes and fostering sustainable cooperation between universities and the labour market.
Four Turkmen partners participated in the project: the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan (AST), and the AST Technological Center.
Key achievements included:- Development of six MSc programmes in Industrial Entrepreneurship at partner universities in Central Asia. The programmes were designed for specialists in economic forecasting and long-term strategic planning and were piloted during the 2022−2023 academic year.
- Training of more than 130 teachers in various subject areas.
- Organisation of promotional events in four Central Asian countries to attract prospective students.
- Integration of teaching, research and innovation across all partner institutions. Staff training for the MSc curricula was held in March 2023 at the University of Naples Federico II, Italy.
- Official launch of MSc programmes at the Turkmen partner universities in the 2023−2024 academic year.
- Establishment of Entrepreneur Centers at four Central Asian universities. Opened in December 2022, these centers support innovation and entrepreneurship through educational and informational programmes, seminars and events for students and entrepreneurs.
The MSc programme in Entrepreneurship and Finance is designed for specialists from all sectors of the economy, including joint-stock companies, manufacturing and service enterprises, economic associations, the banking sector and international organisations. Graduates develop strong research and analytical skills and the ability to implement effective organisational and management solutions.
