Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe and beyond, which has offered a life changing experience to millions participants of all ages and backgrounds.
The objective of Erasmus+ is to promote transnational learning mobility and cooperation as a mean for improving quality and excellence, supporting inclusion and equity, and boosting innovation in the education. The programme is also a key instrument for building knowledge, skills, and attitudes on climate change and sustainable development around the world. T
he 2021−2027 Erasmus+ places strong focus on social inclusion, promoting young people’s participation in democratic life, green and digital transitions.

The mission of the National Erasmus+ Office in Turkmenistan is committed to raising awareness of the international components and opportunities of the Erasmus+ Programme in order to develop intercultural understanding and promote positive changes in the Turkmen society.
NEO Turkmenistan is responsible for:
- Providing information on Erasmus+ Key Actions and activities that are opened to the participation of Turkmen citizens in the field of higher education
- Implementing support and assistance for the Turkmen higher education institutions in searching partners for project consortia
- Coordinating the national Team of Higher Education Reform Experts' activities
- Providing support to policy dialogue
- Maintaining the contacts with the Turkmen authorities and the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan
- Following the policy developments in the areas listed above
To improve the effectiveness and impact of the Erasmus+ Programme in Turkmenistan the NEO annually organizes conferences and information events to promote greater awareness of Erasmus+ among stakeholders in the country and to attract the attention of potential applicants to the Programme calls for proposals.
NEO Turkmenistan maintains continuous collaboration with national authorities, the international government ministries and foreign diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan. The key partners of the NEO -- the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ofTurkmenistan, and the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan -- regularly invite the NEO staff to joint conferences and other activities including the information exchange and consultations.
