National Information Day was held in Mary

In December 2024, the National Erasmus+ Office started the promotion campaign of Erasmus+ 2025 Call targeted to provide the information on the opportunities for HE institutions, individuals and other stakeholders and increase the involvement of Turkmen universities in the Programme activities.
The National Information Day was organised on 25 December 2024 for the universities located in the remote regions of Turkmenistan and held at the State Energy Institute (Mary region). Show more

Turkmen HEREs took part in the Regional Conference

The Conference held in Tashkent on December 19−20, 2024 brought together HEREs to discuss the improving of the HE system in CA countries through exchange of experience in particular in the framework of Erasmus+ new regional projects and mobility agreements. The Conference was hosted by the TIIAME National Research University. Participants paid special attention to the development of the regional cooperation in the context of the application process of Erasmus+ 2025 Call, project achievements, impact and best practices gained in joint ICM and CBHE projects.

NEO conducted a meeting with university professors

On December 14, 2024, with the support of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the National Erasmus+ Office organised a meeting targeted to promote the information on the Erasmus+ Programme and the HERE international activities.
Gulnabat Gurdova, Head of International Department (MoE) and Ayna Chorekliyeva, NEO Coordinator, welcomed the participants. A. Chorekliyeva told about importance of participating in Erasmus+ activities for the development and support of Turkmen universities. Show more

NEO and HERE Team organised information sessions

Information sessions were held on December 7−8, 2024 at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management (TSIEM) and at the Turkmen State Institute of Finance (TSIF). The events were aimed to acquaint the audience with the innovations of the Erasmus+ Program for 2025, and give recommendations for potential applicants.
Addressing the participants, A. Chorekliyeva, NEO Coordinator noted the positive effect of Turkmen universities' participation in the CBHE and ICM projects.

Turkmen and Turkish universities in the framework of ICM project

Turkmen and Turkish universities in the framework of Erasmus+ ICM concluded the project Agreement in 2024 between the Turkmen State Institute of Culture (TGIK) and Çankırı Karatekin University (ÇAKÜ) according to which Maral Muratlıeva, a teacher of TGIK, had her internship at the School of Tourism and Hotel Management at ÇAKÜ in October 2024.
The TSIC has implemented their part of the Interinstitutional Agreement with Çankırı University; in 2025 the university is expecting a return visit of a Turkish lecturer to Turkmenistan.

Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2025 has been published on the website of EACEA: the Call proposals comes with a budget of nearly €5 billion to support mobility and cooperation opportunities for learners, educators, and organisations and covers all aspects of European and international actions available under the programme as a whole.

Erasmus MSc Programme and Scholarships GLOBE

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) in Global Change Ecology and Biodiversity Management (GLOBE) is now open for 2025−2026 student applications!
The programme is delivered by Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, Spain, together with Bangor University (UK), Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), and Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala (Mexico).

Erasmus Mundus Master MIR (Marine & Maritime Intelligent RoboRobotics offers two
scholarships to candidates from CA region for 2024−25 recruitment campaign.
Who is Eligible?
Students who hold at the beginning of the programme/time of registering to the programme (September) a first university degree after at least three years of university studies totaling 180 ECTS, of which at least 30 ECTS are in mathematics-related subjects.

REA will organise the info session

The European Research Executive Agency (REA) will organise the online information session in connection with the announcement of the call of the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) Staff Exchanges, and invites higher education institutions, and other public and private organisations and their staff in Research & Innovation to take part in the event.
The call of the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) Staff Exchanges is open for new proposal applications until 5 February 2025. The programme offers unique opportunities for public/private organisations and their staff in Research & Innovation on the FTOP (Funding & tender opportunities portal).
During the session the REA will provide the participants with in-depth information about the key features of the MSCA Staff Exchanges Action and how to apply to the call for proposals. The online MSCA info session will take place on 15 November 2024 at 10:00 – 12:30.

Turkmen universities took part in the regional TAM seminar

On 19 to 20 September 2024 Turkmen universities and the Ministry of Education staff took part in the EU Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) seminar: "Strategies for HEIs: Excelling in QS and THE International Rankings". The event was held at Alisher Navoi State University of Uzbek Language and Literature in Tashkent and targeted to provide the CA higher education institutions with practical strategies to raise their quality standards in line with international criteria, and find the opportunities of inclusion in the international educational ratings. Dr. Ellen Hazelkorn addressed the audience with key-note presentation "What We Should Know about Rankings". She discussed the diversity of the international university rankings and their significance, and focused on THE, QS and ARWU criteria and methodologies. exploring the ways in which policymakers, students, academics, business and industry stakeholders use rankings.
The seminar participants shared the experience and outlined the directions of cooperation to strengthen the positions of CA universities in the authoritative ratings. The event became one of the important steps towards the development of the CA higher education system.
