Erasmus Mundus Master MIR offers scholarships for graduates

Call | 21 December 2023

Erasmus Mundus Master MIR (Marine & Maritime Intelligent Robotics) offers two scholarships to candidates from CA for 2024−2025 recruitment campaign.

Who is Eligible?
Students who hold at the beginning of the programme/time of registering to the programme (September) a first university degree after at least three years of university studies totaling 180 ECTS, of which at least 30 ECTS are in mathematics-related subjects.
Proficient in one programming language
Proven B2 minimum CEFR level English proficiency
Application Deadline: end of January for candidates from Turkmenistan

Information session at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan

On December 19, 2023 the Information session on Erasmus+ Call 2024 was held by the National Erasmus+ Office (NEO) at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan for representatives of the Turkmen HE Institutions' administration. The meeting was organised by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan with active involvement of the NEO Turkmenistan, and support from the Ministry of International Relations of Turkmenistan, the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
The conference agenda was focused on providing the Vice-Rectors of the Turkmen HE institutions with more visibility about existing opportunities for Turkmen universities in the frameworks of Erasmus+ Call 2024 to strengthen the HEIs' capacity building through active involvement and participation of university faculties, departments, teaching staff and students in the Erasmus+ Programme.

HERE Annual Conference in Barcelona, Spain

The Annual Conference of the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) was held in Barcelona from 4−5 December 2023. This Conference brought together HEREs and NEOs from European and Partner Countries to discuss topics related to greening in higher education and sharing information and practice for current reform priorities. The event was organised with the support of EACEA and the SPHERE Team (Centralised Support for Higher Education Reform Experts).
Turkmenistan HEREs Shohrat Bashimov (Turkmen State Institute of Finance) and Bayram Jumayev (State Power Engineering Institute of Turkmenistan) shared their impressions about the work implemented in the framework of the Conference agenda.

Erasmus+ Call for proposals launched!

On November 28, the European Commission launched the 2024 Call for proposals under Erasmus+ with € 4.3 billion to support mobility and ooperation in education, training, youth and sport. Erasmus+ aims to support more participants and their ideas in Europe and beyond!

Horse Breeding Academy has been opened in Turkmenistan

On October 10−12, 2023 NEO Coordinator Ayna Chorekliyeva took part in the International Conference and International Exhibition "Health Care, Education and Sports" organised by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan. The Ministry of Education invited the NEO Coordinator to visit Aba Annayev International Horse Breeding Academy and take part in the Conference sectional meetings.
Addressing the teaching staff and students, A. Chorekliyeva invited teachers and students to join in Erasmus+ Programme and familiarised them with opportunities and participation requirements, the possibilities of academic exchange, and other relevant Programme features.

MEPs visited NEO Turkmenistan

Meeting | 19 June 2023
On 19 June 2023, a group of European Union high-ranking representatives met with the NEO team during their working visit to Turkmenistan. Among the honored guests there were: EU MPs Ryszard Czarnecki and Tomáṥ Zdechovskỳ, Head of the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Diego Ruiz Alonso, Deputy Ambassador Renata Wrobel, and team support officials.
During the meeting, the EU representatives were informed about activities which the NEO held to support the CBHE project implementation, as well as about organisation of promotional events for disseminating the information about Erasmus+ Programme in Turkmenistan.
Aina Chorekliyeva, NEO Coordinator, told about the outcomes of CBHE project activities in the country since 2015 provided great support to higher education institutions in Turkmenistan for improving the quality of teaching and learning, and developing internationalisation process.
Participants also raised a number of important issues related to the implementation of CBHE projects and the NEO organisational activities, gave their recommendations, and considered the possibilities of providing further support to the work of the NEO team which could become significant and contribute to further professional development of the NEO staff.
The MSCFP application call will be opened in mid-July 2023

Call | 20 May 2023
The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) was launched in 2020 by the IAEA Director General in an effort to increase the number of women in the nuclear field, supporting an inclusive workforce of men and women who contribute to and drive global scientific and technological innovation. The programme aims to inspire and encourage young women to pursue a career in nuclear related field. The Programme provides highly motivated female students with scholarships for Master’s programmes and an opportunity to pursue an internship facilitated by the IAEA.
Scholarships are awarded annually to 100+ female students: consideration is given to geographic and field of study diversity, in addition to eligibility requirements and other criteria. The selected students are awarded up to € 20,000 for tuition costs and up to € 20,000 for living costs for their Master’s programme. Upon completion of their studies, students are also given an opportunity to pursue an internship for up to 12 months at the IAEA, its partner organizations or industry. Additionally, students are provided with opportunities to attend and participate in various educational, professional and networking events.

University cooperation in the framework of ICM project

Director of the Institute of Analytical Chemistry in Bratislava, Professor Ivan Spanik is currently in Turkmenistan as part of the International Credit Mobility project which has been signed in the context of the Erasmus+ Program between Magtymguly Turkmen State University and Slovak University of Technology. Professor I. Spanik, who is also a member of the Slovak Chemical Society and an expert of the Slovak Accreditation Service, will deliver lectures during the last week of March to university students and specialists in the field of chromatographic analysis and their application. Within the framework of the ICM project cooperation, professional internships have been planned for the TSU academic staff, as well as working visits of academics of the Slovak University to Turkmenistan.
