Erasmus Mundus TROPIMUNDO Master programme announces the first call for applicants seeking a scholarship intending to start in academic year 2025−2026


The DEADLINE for application is 30 NOVEMBER 2024


Erasmus Mundus TROPIMUNDO offers a certain number of fully covering scholarships for EU and non-EU students. Selected scholarship holders will have their tuition fees and mobility covered in addition to receiving full insurance and monthly allocations. Show more
FHM Webinar "CBL with Virtual Assistants"

Turkmen university staff and students took active part in a webinar organised on September 11, 2024 by the private university FHM, Bielefeld, Germany for educators interested in creating and implementing innovative, practical, and digital learning. During the event, FHM experts shared their practical experience in designing and integrating Challenge-Based Learning and virtual assistants into teaching practices.

HERE visited Tampere University

Study visit | 10 September 2024
On September 3−4, 2024, the SPHERE Team with the support of EACEA organized a HERE study visit to Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK), Finland. The university-industry collaboration is a top policy priority in higher education systems around the world. During the study visit, HEREs were familiarized with TAMC various approaches to collaboration with industry. The focus was on several key areas: curriculum development, work-integrated learning, and teaching collaborations. As part of training, HEREs visited three TAMC’s laboratories to learn how teaching laboratories and applied research centers work, and how these support the development of the university.
Turkmen HERE Shohrat Byashimov (Turkmen State Institute of Finance) took active part in HERE study activities.


HCWA project workshop was held in Delft, Netherlands

The Delft Institute of Water Education hosted the HWCA project partners from EU and CA universities on July 9−19, 2024. The conducted workshops were targeted on the professional development of partners in the field of water management. Twelve partner universities took part in the productive discussion and exchange of opinions on the related issues, and establishment of multilateral and useful contacts.
For Turkmen partners it was an excellent opportunity to learn new approaches to the key topics, and share ideas and examples of good practice with project partners.

NEO and the French Institute conducted a joint event

On 14 June 2024 the staff of NEO Turkmenistan conducted an info session at the French Institute in Turkmenistan acted as a sponsor of the event. Ambassador of France to Turkmenistan Mr. Philippe Merlin and Director of the French Institute in Turkmenistan Romain Gouvernet warmly welcomed the audience.
The necessity of learning languages, opening the prospects for the acquisition of further knowledge, was emphasised by A. Chorekliyeva, NEO Coordinator. NEO staff explained the advantageous and study opportunities for individuals to study at the universities of Europe.

EU and Turkmenistan Joint Conference "30 Years of Cooperation: Working Together for a Better Future"

The joint Conference was organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan on May 14, 2024 to promote three decades of partnership between EU and Turkmenistan. The Conference was attended by the EU and Turkmenistan high-level officials, diplomats, civil servants, and other stakeholders. NEO Turkmenistan and the EU funded regional and national project representatives took active part in the Conference and in the Fair held at the MFA premises.

CirculEC project partners implemented first mobility visits

The EU universities organised the first mobility visits for CA partners which started from the FHM University in Bielefeld, Germany, Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and completed in Naples, Italy. The unusual project start contributed to the consolidation and future partnership of EU and CA participants, their effective engagement in the activities, and as well as revising the basics of circular economy.
The CirculEC project aims to build human capital capacity in Central Asian higher education institutions on the circular economy to provide staff, students and the general public with skills and competencies relevant to the needs of local labor markets and environmental challenges faced currently by Central Asia countries.

GEOCLIC and MIETC have successfully been completed

Two Erasmus+ CBHE projects GEOCLIC and MIETC have successfully been completed in early 2024. GEOCLIC was started in 2021with objectives to modernize university curricula in geospatial technologi es for ensuring the environmental safety of the coastal ecosystems. The project consortium involved five EU partners, three CA and Azerbaijan universities. Three Turkmen universities took part in the project.
MIETC was launched in January 2020 targeting to strengthen the academic capacity of CA HEIs in Industrial Entrepreneurships through the interdisciplinary MCs programme. Four Turkmen partners took part in the project.
The developed programs in both projects successfully combined the EU universities' knowledge with local experience of HEIs and business companies.

2024 Erasmus+ Programme Information Day was held at the IIR

The National Information Day was heldat the Institute of International Relations (IIR) of Turkmenistan on January 20, 2024. The event was organised by the IIR and NEO Turkmenistan with the support of the Ministry of Education in Turkmenistan, the EU Delegation to Turkmenistan and the EACEA. The aim of the event was to provide the information on the opportunities of the Erasmus+ Programme 2024 Call for HE institutions, individuals and other stakeholders to increase their involvement in the Programme activities.
